Outstanding 10 inch Boston clock, American, circa 1886.  The clock has a beautifully engraved dial with wax filled Roman numerals.  Above the center is a subsidiary second dial and to the right a slow/fast adjustment.  Below the center is an engraved banner with an engraved caption stating: "STAR BRASS MFG. CO. BOSTON, MASS."  Below the winding post is another engraved banner with the engraving: "BOSTON".  The clock retains its original blue steel moon hands.  The clock retains its original Boston eight day movement with nickel damascened plates.  This clock was a special order because it has an eleven jeweled escapement instead of the customary seven, consequently it keeps very accurate time.  The clock retains its original large flange and deep red brass case. The case has a shield shape hinge and there is a strong "S" curve to the push button bezel. (CL-387)

Condition:  The clock is in outstanding restored condition.  The movement has been overhauled.  The dial has been silvered and the case has been polished and lacquered.  The clock is mounted on a contemporary American walnut back ring.
Dimensions:  Diameter of clock 11 3/4 inches; Diameter of back ring 14 1/2 inches; Depth 4 1/4 inches.
