Information

Unusual and rare Harvard clock company mantel clock, signed on the dial: "HARVARD CLOCK CO." The clock retains its original porcelain dial with Roman numerals.  The clock face has a cut away aperture allowing one to see the balance wheel and pivot wheel with engraved brass mounts.  Also visible is the engraved slow/fast adjustment and damascene plates.  The clock has a rectangular brass case with applied pilasters to the front sides.  There is a gallery on the top of the case with four finials with open balusters along the back.  The clock sits on four block feet above reverse finials. The back of the clock has a circular brass disk which removes to gain access to the movement.  The backplate of the movement is beautifully damascened and signed: "HARVARD CLOCK CO. BOSTON, PATD. DEC. 28, 1880". (CL-361) 

 

Condition:  The bevel glass has been replaced. The movement has been overhauled and the case has been polished.
