Information

Mahogany knee hole campaign desk, English, circa 1860.  The desk has two pedestal sides, each with three draws.  Each draw has recessed brass hardware with flip-up bail handles.  The base of the pedestal is molded on all four sides and the top edge is lined with brass.  There are brass bands at the sides of the upper draws.  The top section of the desk has two draws which conform to the pedestal draws and a larger center draw. These draws have matching hardware to the pedestals.  The top and bottom edges of this section is trimmed with brass.  The top of the desk has a beautifully tooled and gild green leather top which may be original.  The back of the desk has the same finish as the front and sides so that it can be placed in the middle of a room.
