Sepia toned silver print, showing a broadside port view of the famed commuter yacht "Cigarette", American, circa 1905. The "Cigarette" is steaming along with a coastal background. She is flying the burgee of the Eastern Yacht Club from the bow mast and the American flag from the stern. (PH-266) Note: The "Cigarette" was built for William H. Ames in 1905 by George Lawley of Boston. The vessel was 126 feet in length and 14 1/2 feet in beam. Her top speed was 22 knots. She served her owner between 1905 and 1917 when the Navy acquired her for the First World War.
Condition: There is a small amount of toning just above and to the left of the searchlight.
