Red goose sheet metal string dispenser, American, circa 1920. The top of the string holder is in the form of a goose with a white beak and a red body and head. In large white block letters on both sides of the goose's body it states "RED GOOSE SHOES." There is a metal bracket that hangs from the top of the goose's body which holds a metal wire thread holder. When the shop keeper pulled down the string to wrap a package the goose's head bobs up and down as though it is feeding. (FA-820)
