Set of Four Black and White Prints by Benjamin Russel titled "ABANDONMENT OF THE WHALERS IN THE ARTIC OCEAN SEPT 1871 & Published by J.H. Bufford’s Boston in 1872. The set of includes Plate Numbered 1,2,4 and 5 (3 is not included). The prints show various scenes of the American Whale Ships and Whale Boats in the Artic. All five of the complete set are illustrated and captioned with dimensions in the book “Kendall Whaling Museum Prints by M.V. & Dorothy Brewington and Published by the Kendall Whaling Museum, Sharon MA 1969, pages 11-13. Condition: Except for a small stain on one print the prints are in fine untouched condition and retain their original mahogany frames with gold liners.
