InformationInlaid mahogany twelve-inch scrimshaw ruler. The ruler has an etched marker at the edge for each of the inch pints and at the inside end of the line is a round disc whalebone inlay. At the center is a very well-formed inlaid whale ivory sperm whale and at opposite ends are three inlaid abalone triangular inlays, with a thin ebony but cap on opposite ends. The back of the ruler is plain wood. (SC1236) Condition: The ruler is a rare item in fine condition with nice age patina. Dimensions: Length 12 ¼, Height 2, Inches
