InformationRare and unusual whale ivory and narwhal cane, mid-19th Century. The ball-shaped grip is made of ivory with two scribe lines at the center followed by a series of eleven raised bands. The shaft is a 33 ¼ inch single piece section of tapered narwhal ivory. One third down the shaft are two holes which once held a leather wrist strap. (WS0266) Condition: The cane is in excellent condition, however there is a small chip in the lowest band on the grip. The cane has a wonderful deep patina. Dimension: Length 38 inches.
