Carved Playing Card Storage Box titled "Idle Hours at Sea by Gordon", Last Quarter 19th Century.The top and bottom of the box have a rectangular smooth surface with a detailed carving of a King and Queen playing card on each side. At the spine their is a clear area for the titled "Idle Hours at Sea"and author as well as a stippled image of a whales tail. The remaining surface of the box is chiseled in a decorative fashion. There is a draw that slides out out of the box. The opposite side of the title is painted gold to simulate gilded pages. (FA1128))
