Unusually large and beautifully etched and engraved hurricane shade, American or English, circa 1880. The hurricane shade has a bulbous form with a heavy rounded base. Around the center section there is a band about 10 inches high of frosted glass with a deeply engraved pattern of grapes and grape leaves hanging from a vine. Below the rim and above the base are engraved bands decorated with grapes hanging from an engraved vine. (MI-641)
