ANTONIO NICOLO GASPARO JACOBSEN, New York/New Jersey/Denmark, 1850-1921
Oil on canvas of the pilot schooner No. 13, the Francis Perkins signed and dated lower right "A. Jacobsen 1895". The painting depicts the New York pilot boat Francis Perkins whose name appears on a white banner flying from the rear mast. The number “13” is painted on the main sail. This white hulled topsail schooner is painted with fine detail as are the three vessels of varying rigs near the shore. (PA1024)
