Silk, velvet and embroidered portrait of the schooner yacht "Ethel Mildred", signed lower right in red: "T Willis", circa 1915.  The picture is done in Willis' typical style and is a fine example.  The vessel has a black velvet hull and the name, "Ethel Mildred", is embroidered in gold above the gold bow decoration. The deck fittings and crew are embroidered as are the spars and flags.  The "Ethel Mildred" is a two-masted schooner under full sail.  The sails are silk with pencil sail seams and reef points.  The vessel is applied to an oil on canvas background.  To the left of the horizon is a spit of land with a lighthouse.  The water is various shades of green with white highlights.  The sky is light blue with puffy clouds with purple and pink highlights.
