Scrimshaw cane with whale ivory capstan-like eight-sided grip with carved raised circular decoration on the top. Below the grip are two thin silver spacers followed by a long tapered whale bone shaft. At the top the shaft has an eight-sided section above a raised diamond hatch section above a wormed rope carved section ending with a smooth tapered section. Each section is separated with a narrow carved band.
