Information8 1/2 Inch Nantucket Purse signed and dated "Alan S.W. Reed Nantucket 1885 2tih" Cherry Top and Base. The Basket has oak ribs and rattan weavers. The top has oak ribs that are much smaller than the basket base and have a very fine micro-weave effect. The rims are oak and the basket has a finely shaped oak handle. The cherry top is oval with a finely rounded edge. Mounted to the top op the basket is a carved blue whale by Nancy Chase. The basket has rounded ivory pins and an ivory fid style closure.
